Different Sides of Hamlet • When he is with Horatio, his truly strange personality is exposed. • When he is in public he follows etiquette (sometimes) and is charming and caring. • The horrible and gruesome side we see of Hamlet when he plots and carried out murders. • He also shows honour and respect towards his father bravely carrying out his impossible wish.

John Marsden’s Take on Hamlet • John Marsden may aim to make the reader feel uncomfortable by his unearthing personality or maybe excited by the ideas of his death plots. • He strongly depicts theme of Hamlet’s split personality. • Marsden makes Hamlets’s character relatable and by having those connections to the charater cause enforce you to experience emotion at his death.
