Final Thoughts U. S. is only place where chassis are provided to drayage truckers (Canada, Europe, everywhere else, drayage truckers bring their own wheels to pull containers) If both railroads AND draymen prefer wheeled ramps…how do we get the ramp operator to stop placing bad chassis next to ramp track? Government regulation of pool chassis? Create a ‘placement interchange’ like a J 1 so ramp lift operator guarantees they placed a container onto a good chassis?
