The cost will go to providing each students with food and crafts that they will have during the party. I would like to encourage you to practice math facts at least 5 minutes a day. Math facts are important because they form the building blocks for higher lever math concepts. When students masters their math facts, math concepts will be significantly easier and the student will be better equipped to solve math equations faster. Learning Focus Math: This week we worked on making fact families. A fact family is made up of three numbers. Numbers are related and there always at least four math facts to be made with them. I can make 2 addition equations and 2 subtraction equation. For example, given the numbers of a fact family 6, 4, and 10 your child should be able to make 6+4 =10, 4+6 =10, 10 - 4=6, and 10 – 6 =4. Once your child understands the relationship of the fact family, it's easy to see what number is missing at a quick glance. Solving addition and subtraction problems is then much easier and it helps to build their mental math. Understanding fact families also helps us to find a missing number in an equation. In Science, we created an animal and described how our animal will survive in its habitat.
