Why Integrated curriculum? • Because, I had the opportunity to work on an environment where all areas of development come together to be part of the whole child. • Because, on my experience Curriculum is about making connections among all areas of development; (social/emotional, cognitive, physical, language development, math, etc. ). • Because by Guiding children's involvement in projects, I can enrich their learning experience. • By extending children's ideas and responding to their questions, I can engage in conversation that can challenge their thinking.

What Have I done? : • On the Integrated curriculum project, I was motivated to the thoughts, ideas, and theories on children Development. • At Claude Moore Recreational Center all the teachers provide a safe environment for children and make assessments of their work and ideas, so the children can build their own understanding of the world around them and learn. • I worked on lesson plans that include a variety of subjects.

Positive remarks • Good: I learned that no matter how much knowledge I may think I have, I always need to give myself time to be proactive and get an ongoing knowledge in all different areas related to the child development.

What went wrong: • One of my failures was little time for reflection. Due to the busy schedule of the school day, and the daily routines at the center, I did not have time to reflect. • I was confident that I had enough time for the project, I learned to be more effective when working on projects deadlines.

Special Challenge. • The integrated curriculum project was not an easy task. • Through this document, I increased awareness on the relationship between the Standards of Early Childhood Development and styles of teaching. • The project needed to be accomplished incorporating all the components on child development (child, family, community, content, strategy and professionalism). • Lack of understanding on observation and verification due dates.
