About The Show • The Moss River Community Players are pretty okay settling for theatrical mediocrity, until one day they receive a stunning offer: an insanely wealthy woman is offering a ten million dollar prize for the best community theatre show in North Central Minnesota. The catch? They only have two days to put it together! All heck breaks loose as the cast tries their best to present An Unspeakable Triumph of Supreme Brilliance, but with one actor deathly afraid of the stage, another trying to dominate the show, and a set about to collapse, will the riches slip out of their hands before curtain call? A note about commitment… • Due to the nature of our rehearsal process (remember we’re working around break, concerts, etc. ), you MUST be committed to the show. Our rehearsal schedule is mapped out from auditions until productions. If you can’t commit, consider auditioning for a smaller role, or perhaps, choosing to participate in a different way. • DO NOT say you’re willing to accept any role if you really aren’t. • By dropping the show after you’ve decided that now you don’t want a role, you’re taking away someone else’s opportunity, someone who we may have cut completely. Don’t be that guy.

If you want to do some early prep: • Watch some videos, the movie, Rent LIVE etc. • Research the show – the idea behind it, the development, the impact • Practice your guitar (Rogers), drums and dancing in heels (Angels), performance art (Maureens), flexibility (Mimis), tango (Joannes and Marks), and singing through tears (Collins…and literally EVERYONE in the show) • There will be opportunities for small parts in the show; it will be offered schoolwide…so, if you don’t have the time to commit to our full rehearsal schedule, or you are fearful of auditioning, and you still want to be involved, this might be thing for you! • The show is the school edition, which means there are revisions and deletions from the original script, very much like there were in Chicago. • Costuming and dancing will be appropriate for your age – DO NOT FRET!
