Deck Cards Equipment Needed: Cones Objectives/TEKS: - Students will increase their heart rate and improve muscular strength by fully participating in the fitness stations. - Students will be able to locate various muscles and muscle groups on their body by answering questions correctly. - Students will learn to appreciate the importance of working in groups and following instructions through encouraging and helping classmates during the stations. Spell It Out Fitness Teaching Points and Facility Layout: Stations 1) Wrecking Blobs: Students sit on the climbing rope knot and swing toward the bowling pins to knock them down. 2) Spell It Out Fitness: See attachment 3) Fit. Deck Cards: Students choose a card and perform the exercise shown 10 times and then choose a new card. 4) Dice and Exercise: Students stand in a circle and roll 4 dice. Add up the number of dots showing. One person chooses an exercise from the poster and everyone in the group does that exercise the same number of times as what was counted on the dice. Take turns rolling and choosing exercises. 5) Plank Hockey: Partners will face one another in a plank position about 3 -5 feet apart. One partner will have a bean bag next to a hand to start the activity. When the activity begins, Partner A will place a hand on top of the bean bag and try to slide it on the floor between Partner B’s hands before Partner B can stop it with one hand. Partner B will then get a turn and turns will rotate until time is up. The object is to see who can score the most points. 6) Climbing Wall 7) Scooter Fitness: Knee Tucks (knees on the board, hands in front, push and pull legs in/out), Crab Tucks (heels on the board like a crab walk push and pull the board away/to your body), Plank Exchange (plank position with board next to you on the left, lift left hand move the board under your body to the other side, lift right hand move the board back) 8) Hula Hoops: Use the hula hoops and practice swinging the hoop around various body parts.
