Employee Engagement – A Key to Success Ø 2013 EMS objective to begin the journey of Zero Waste to Landfill. Goal to reduce landfill waste by 10%. Ø Process to achieve target – Employee Engagement driven by the Earth Day Team. Ø Team consists of employees throughout the organization and drives communication, promotes awareness and education, and strives to engage employees in the EMS. Zero Landfill Challenge Introduced: HMTC’s Zero Landfill Challenge – “Think Outside the Dumpster” This challenge is for ALL employees at HMTC – Employees participate with “Zero Landfill Challenge” Submission Form – Recognize employees throughout the year – Environmental Team drives the program. Benefits of Employees Engaged in the EMS Ø 86% of employees and resident contractors participated in last year’s event. Ø 359 environmental improvements completed.
