Suicide • Suicide is the 3 rd leading cause of death by age 10 -19. • The majority of teens say they try suicide to escape or stressful situation.
Suicide Risks: 1. Mental illnesses (depression or conduct disorder) 2. Family stress or dysfunctions 3. Environmental risks which can lead to the presence of a fire arm or weapon. 4. Situational crisis like the death of a loved one or physical/sexual abuse.
Role of the school in suicide prevention: 1. it is curtail for all of the schools employs to be familiar with risk factors and warning signs for suicide behavior 2. School staff should work to create an environment and a relationship where students feel safe when sharing this kind of information.
