Your New Payslip Explained Pay Arrangements on Your Payslip • The way that you are paid for working a Bank Holiday has changed. • If the Bank Holiday falls on a day you would normally work, and you volunteer to work: • You will no longer receive your contractual pay on the day of the Bank Holiday. You will be paid as Bank Holiday / night overtime for the hours you work, plus you have your Bank Holiday entitlement to take at another time in the holiday year. • This will appear on your payslip as: ‘BH DY OT’ (Bank Holiday overtime, for both pay and hours) or ‘BH NT OT’ (Bank Holiday night overtime, for both pay and hours). • If the Bank Holiday falls on a day you would normally work, and you do not work: • You will take the day as Bank Holiday entitlement – if you do not have enough Bank Holiday entitlement, you can take the day as holiday, work the hours at another time or take the day unpaid. • This will appear on your payslip as: ‘BHOL DAYS’ – Bank Holiday entitlement days taken this period; ‘BHOL PAY’ – pay for the day taken as Bank Holiday entitlement; ‘BX’ – minus hours, to be worked at another time. • If the Bank Holiday falls on a day you would NOT normally work, and you volunteer to work: • You will receive Bank Holiday overtime for the hours you work, plus you have your Bank Holiday entitlement to take at another time in the holiday year. • If the Bank Holiday falls on a day you would NOT normally work, and you do not work: • This remains your day off. You also have your Bank Holiday entitlement to take during holiday year. The New Payslip Fields • As part of the new holiday policy and changes to Bank Holidays, our payslips have changed to reflect the new Bank Holiday entitlements and pay arrangements. • The example below shows what your new payslip fields will look like. If you have any questions about payments, please speak to your Compliance Manager or Wage Clerk. If you have any questions about the new holiday and Bank Holiday policy, please speak to your Line Manager or Personnel Manager. QUOTE IN THE EVENT OF A QUERY BRANCH 1234 PY GRP. The New Holiday and Bank Holiday Policy On the 1 April this year the

The New Holiday and Bank Holiday Policy On the 1 April this year the statutory minimum of rest days to be taken away from work was increased to 28 days. This was a great opportunity for us to review the way we manage holidays and Bank Holidays, and launch a new holiday and Bank Holiday policy that remains fair, flexible and provides more choice for everyone. Under the new policy your annual holiday entitlement has remained the same, but the old Customary Holiday Policy (1/5 th Allowance) has been replaced with the new Bank Holiday entitlement in whole days. Some of the key points of the new policy: • Bank Holiday working remains voluntary for all staff, employed before 26 January 2009. • Existing Bank Holiday premiums remain • End of the 1/5 th (pro-rata) Customary Holiday policy • Bank Holiday Entitlement will now be calculated in days • More choice in when Bank Holiday Entitlement can be taken • One booking window for Annual Holiday Entitlement • Bank Holiday Entitlement booked separately from Annual Holiday Entitlement • All staff have an equal opportunity to volunteer to work Bank Holidays • All staff have an equal opportunity to book their Bank Holiday Entitlement • New Holiday Review Meeting to ensure all staff are taking their full entitlements.
