The Census Bureau is the Government department which researches and provides accurate information regarding the country's people and economy. We collect Information on: -Population -Economy -Communities -Businesses -Demographics which is used to determine distribution of Congressional seats to states. 2
Why Do We Do a Census Every 10 Years? It’s in the Constitution! FUN FACT: The first Census was done in 1790 The U. S. Constitution requires a census every 10 years. The census covers the entire country and everyone living here. Article 1, Section 2 of the U. S. Constitution The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. 3

What is a 2020 Census partner? § As a partner, you join a network of nonprofit, corporate, and community organizations working at the national and local level to encourage households to respond to the 2020 Census. § We work individually with each partner to select creative and impactful ways to work with us that benefit the 2020 Census and your business or organization § Lets get creative, lets have fun, and lets spread the word about the 2020 Census! 11
How you can help! Form Complete Count Committees (CCC) The goal is to promote the 2020 Census to their constituents. § § § § § State and Local Government Organizations Community Based Organizations Non-Profits Social Service Providers Foundations Businesses Media, including ethnic in-language Faith-based Organizations Health Organizations 12
§ § Include information about the 2020 Census in e-mails, correspondence, or on the web. Launch social media campaigns. § Invite a Census Bureau speaker to your organization or event. § Submit online letters to the editor, opeds, and commentary on why participating in the Census is imperative. 13 § Provide free online advertising opportunities to promote the 2020 Census and job openings. § Actively monitor, fact check, and correct misinformation on social networks about the 202 Census. § Post and distribute 2020 Census materials on privacy and confidentiality to your constituents. § Open your offices for Census Workshops and hold one yourself.
