College and Career Readiness Day Coming October 28, 2015
The SAT. It’s coming…we are going to get you ready with the Pre-SAT th 9 , th 10 , th 11 All and graders will take the PSAT (Practice SAT) on th October 28 during TFT.
An Assessment of Learning All 9 th, 10 th, and 11 th graders will take a version of the SAT on Oct. 28 th. We are building an assessment culture focus. This will help for you to look at it as an assessment of your learning, and not a TEST! The PSAT and SAT will be a measure of learning and progress to guide your efforts and your teachers, not an end game. The Fall PSAT will serve as a pre-assessment of your learning, where the Spring PSAT will serve as a postassessment of your learning for this year.
PSAT Readiness • Practice PSAT questions are online at www. collegeboard. com. • TFT teacher will be providing more information in the weeks to come. • Hard copy sample questions will be available during the Parent meeting at conferences and next week and in TFT. • It is important to do your very best, so it is true measure of your learning.
SAT Coming in March, 2016 • The SAT is changing in some ways, but these things are staying the same: • It’s accepted by all Michigan colleges. • It’s typically taken by juniors in the spring and seniors in the fall. • SAT scores and high school GPA are a powerful combination. Used together, there’s nothing better at predicting potential college success.
SAT Redesigned for Career and College Readiness You might be surprised by everything that’s new about the new SAT • All-new essay — and it’s optional • No penalty for guessing • No vocab that you’ll never use again • Know what to expect: Click the link: Inside the Test @ www. collegeboard. com
