World Cancer Day is marked on February 4 each year to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. There are different symbols that are used to help promote the fight against different types of cancers. For example, the pink ribbon is a symbol of breast cancer, while the orange ribbon is a symbol of child cancer. At our school we decided to remember this day by giving pink ribbons to pupils and teachers.
