Introduction Ø Niagara college has different initiatives for the improvement of the experience of the students with mental health disabilities. Ø Most common projects are Yellow umbrella and NCSAC. Ø These initiatives aim at the development of an improved and more accommodating environment for students with mental health. Ø Their efficacy has been doubted as the research will establish.
The Problem
Ø There are some marked issues with their implementation. Ø Most students indicated that they do not know of their existence. Ø Other students indicated that the projects do not have proper communication channels. Ø The issue of engagement with the project has been identified as the main cause of the inefficacy of the initiatives.
Purpose
Ø To develop and evaluate the communication channels that can be used by the initiatives. Ø To aims at the development of deeper engagement between the students with mental health and the initiatives.
