The Key Stage 4 Curriculum • 5 compulsory qualifications, 4 student-led options subjects. • 9 qualifications total- a manageable curriculum. • Maximum time spent studying qualification subjects. • ‘Super-Curriculum’ offered alongside the taught curriculum. Achieving Success Together

Key Decisions: History or Geography? • All Blue / Yellow Pathway students will study ONE of these subjects at minimum. • Fundamentally important for students’ understanding of the world. • Heavyweight subjects- lots of content. • For most students, choose ONE only. • Talk to teachers if you are interested in boththey will advise you. Key Decisions: Combined or Separate Sciences? Combined Science • A double-award worth 2 GCSEs • Covers Biology, Chemistry & Physics Separate Sciences • 3 separate GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry & Physics A choice based on enthusiasm and future intentions - not on ability. Achieving Success Together

Key Decisions: Studying a Language • We are keen to increase the number of students doing languages at OSA. • We believe that Blue Pathway students should strongly consider doing a languagefor opportunity and challenge- and E-Bacc. • Yellow Pathway students should consider it if they enjoy language lessons and are making good progress. • Enjoyment, opportunity, achievement.
