Understanding a Set Task 10 mins Today we will look at your Skills. It is important to understand what is required form the Set read Task. ◦ Let’s the Set Task! ◦ You will DEVELOP your skills. ◦ Do you know what your skills are? Complete this table in the word document, simply put an x in the box that you think your ability lies in! Understanding a Set Task 15 mins Let’s break down those Skills even further! ◦ What other SKILLS do you have? ◦ Mind map or list them in the word document! ◦ These skills need to relate to the idea! ◦ So have a think about your performance idea and either list or mind map skills that will enhance your performance or that you could add in to show off your skills effectively. ◦ You will find an example in the word document!

Exploring 10 mins ◦ Now try using some of your skills to explore your idea! ◦ Try doing your performance Commedia style, try it naturalistically, could you narrate it and then act it out? Are you educating people, is it T. I. E? Are you using Physical Theatre? ◦ How are you developing these skills? Are you using them as a base and linking skills? Are you using one style only because it’s your strength? ◦ What skills are you using? Vocal, Physical? How? What can you do to develop them? Play around with sentences, speak them fast and slow, see if one fits better than the other! ◦ Its your turn to play! ◦ Makes some notes of skills you have developed and if any ideas have changed because of it!

Develop your performance 25 mins Its your turn to play! Explore your performance. Rehearse! Keep notes and if you start to get a familiar dialogue going write up your script! Again if your ideas adapt and take a slighty new direction it’s ok, as long as you can explain how and why! Have fun!
