Year 8 Art and Design Lesson 6&7 Summer Term 2 Illustration Content: This term

Year 8 Art and Design Lesson 6&7 Summer Term 2 Illustration Content: This term the Art links and follows on from the work completed this year based around the proportions of the face. Students have learnt how to use proportion guidance to accurately draw the face features in the correct place. The skills of applying these proportion guidelines were then transferred into a Cultural Mask project where students learnt the process of designing masks for different purposes and from different cultures. The design process will be combined with knowledge of the proportions of the face in this project. In lesson 6&7 students will add shading to show the structure of the face and draw their “Superhero” design on the mask. Colour can be added to the face mask. Learning Objective: To add a range of tones and colour to complete your superhero artwork. Tasks: Refer to the resource sheet to help generate ideas for the superhero mask design. Select appropriate tones to show the eyes as an important feature. Think about why the eyes are so important in the artwork. What message are the eye giving?
