YEAR 7: Week beginning Monday 4 th May In this document you will find all the tasks your subject teachers have asked you to complete this week. On the next slide is a timetable template – you may wish to organise your week and plan out when you will do each subject. REMEMBER you can be flexible with this and put in breaks when you need them. On the slides after this you will see a list of the tasks you need to complete. There also lots of extra resources/booklets/tasks on the school website which will help you with your work. Learn the following spellings by making sure you know what they mean, writing them out repeatedly, testing yourself, or getting someone else to test you, and putting them in to your own sentences: diamond, diary, disappear, disappoint, embarrass, energy, engagement, enquire, environment, evaluation, evidence, explanation. 3. Choose a story on Audible to listen to – all children’s books are free at the moment! Complete an Accelerated Reader quiz here on the book you choose: https: //ukhosted 4. renlearn. co. uk/2010034 Extension Project – This term, our genre is ‘Beyond the Real World’ which is a fantasy unit. • Using the picture of Gloin - a dwarf character from The Hobbit - as inspiration, create a mind map or list to describe him. Try and use at least 3 different language techniques (metaphor, simile, personification etc) – the more, the better! • Re-read the words or phrases you have used. Improve them by using more ambitious vocabulary. If you are struggling, use a thesaurus or google to help you. • Using the descriptive words and phrases that you have written, create a character of your own and write a description of them. They must be a fantasy character. Subject Tasks to complete this week… Spanish You have a choice of tasks: • Tasks A need online access; • Tasks B don’t need online access but is computer based or needs to be printed. • Tasks C don’t need online access neither computer based. You must complete all the activities included in at least one of the options A, B or C for this week. Tasks C: Create a comic about people meeting using Spanish greetings and introductions. Remember to use the right expressions depending on the context, time of the day and level of formality. You can create different strips with different characters and situations. Keep your work at home until you can bring it to school.
