Year 7 - RIO CARNIVAL FESTIVAL Research the Rio Carnival Festival. You must submit ONE piece of work every week for each subject area. More guidance can be found on Classcharts & Google Classroom. WEEK 1 WEEK 2 ART DRAMA MUSIC PE Challenge- Design your poster using digital drawing or on the computer using DTP to advertise the Rio De Janerio Carnival, in the style of Brazilian artist Romero Britto, use bright, bold, vivid colours to decorate your poster. See Power. Point for instructions, WAGOLL’s OR Create a poster advertising the RIO De Janerio Carnival, in the style of Brazilian artist Romero Britto, use bright, bold, vivid colours to decorate your poster. Research the following Roles that would organise a Festival. Create a Power. Point or Poster explaining their jobs: Costume designer Set designer Lighting & Sound designer Stage Manager Choreographer Producer Front Of House Manager. Research and present on Samba instruments. Brazil is most famous for its Rio Carnival and FOOTBALL! Choose one of the following tasks to celebrate Brazilian sporting culture: - Choose one of the selected ‘greatest footballing moments’ or choose your own and then plan how you will recreate the moment at home OR, - Research football freestyling and plan your own sequence of skills. (See information sheet for more detail) Challenge- Make a 3 D mask for the Rio De Janeiro Carnival, using cardboard and paper. It should be bright, bold and colourful. See the Power. Point presentation for videos, WAGOLLS and examples of existing masks. OR Design a Costume for either a man or women for the Rio De Janerio Carnival. It should be bright, bold and colourful. Annotate your designs using the prompt on the Power. Point presentation. Videos, WAGOLLS and examples of existing masks are on the Power. Point. EITHER Create a digital Advert/ Short Film to advertise the Rio Festival. Use pictures – music where possible If no ICT – draw a storyboard and use subtitles OR Learn/ Choreograph a Brazilian Dance & film yourself performing. You may wish to perform to the Music you created and wear your mask and costume. Compose a piece of Samba music. Perform and record. Or Listening task: ‘Bellini’- ‘Samba De Janeiro’. Or Compose a piece of Samba music. Write an evaluation. Using the plan you devised last week, practically recreate either your greatest Brazilian footballing moment OR your freestyle skills sequence.
