Remember these different ways of starting sentences? Try to use each of these starters to write a variety of sentences about courage or being brave. You could start with a boring, simple sentence such as: I was brave when I saw a spider. This could become: Terrified, I entered the room, palms sweating and teeth chattering as in the corner, I spied a creature whose shadow cast on the wall above… Can you hear how much more tense the second version is? Have a go. Challenge: Write the same sentence using all six different openers from the grid.
