Year 6 End of Year Collective Worship 2020 ST GREGORY’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL
Let the light of this candle be a sign of Jesus’s presence here with us today.
Thank you Dear Lord We thank you for all the great things we have done at this school. We have learnt so much; we have had fun; we have grown up. Look after us as we prepare for a future in a new school. Help us stay true to the faith and values that have been so important in this school. Help us aspire to be more.
Prayer and Reflection For School: Dear Lord, Please help the children who move around school in their bubbles to stay safe and be happy and please look after our friends at home who are unable to join us in school at the moment. Help us to be kind, loving, thoughtful and holy at St Gregory’s Catholic School. Lord Hear us.
For Keyworkers. Dear Lord, Please look after the police, nurses, doctors, firefighters, care workers and all keyworkers everywhere as they put others’ needs before their own every day. Be their light and guide them. Be their shield and protect them. Keep their children safe when they have to come into school. Lord Hear Us.
For the poor: Dear Lord, We remember and ask you to help, the poor and those less fortunate than us and especially the vulnerable in society and the homeless. Help those who have no homes or food to eat and give us the grace to help them as much as we can. Lord Hear Us. We ask Our Lady to hear our prayers as we say…
What do you expect of others as we start secondary school this September? To be kind To be friendly To be caring To be honest To be fair To be grateful To be good people
The Word:
Go forth:
A prayer to the end of this school year: At the end of this school year we give thanks to God: For all the teaching and learning that has taken place in our school, both in and out of the classroom. For the talents and gifts that have been shared and the challenges that have been faced; for the burdens that have been lifted and for the respect and care that has been given.
We give thanks for the friendships that have just begun and for those that have grown. For the faith that has been lived and the hope that has lifted our hearts. We offer to you the love that has kept us going. We give thanks for the strong community that we are, and we ask you Lord to bless our students as they prepare for High School in September: may your Spirit inspire them with confidence and calmness.
May our time together leave us with memories to cherish. Pour out your love on us that we may return renewed and refreshed to continue our journey. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen
