YEAR 4 – SELF ISOLATION LEARNING PACK 2 THE FOLLOWING POWERPOI FULL WEEKS WORTH (5 LEARNING TO SUPPORT P LEARNING AT NT DA RO HO WILL OUTLINE A YS) OF HOME GRESS WHILST ME.

TIMETABLE • We would like to begin by thanking you all for accessing the home learning pack whilst in isolation at home. You should be very proud that you are following the government guidance and keeping the community safe. • Please begin by outlining with the family the agreed routine and timetable that you will attempt to follow. In school a routine and goal often helps to achieve a successful day. • The Power. Point will cover 5 days worth of learning. Please set up a timetable that suits your family and ensure you still communicate with the class teacher and school about your progress. • There are 5 sessions of Maths, English and other sessions. We will also want you to complete daily reading (book or bug club), Times Table practice (TTRS or on paper) and spelling practice (Readiwriter or on paper). • We would expect that you stay physically and mentally fit by engaging in 10 minutes of daily exercise. This can be something decided on by the whole family. It is a good way to positively share time. • The lessons will be supported by the use of Oak Academy. There will be links available to follow in order to access the correct learning. These have been tested and sequenced by the class teachers providing your child with a good level of challenge. • Oak Academy has been chosen as it is highly supported by the Government and school. If you wish to supplement any of the learning and extend any knowledge please visit our school website (Kids Zone). • Don’t forget to use your class email account to show your hard work to the teacher. Here is also a good place to communicate about learning. Photos of work can be sent in for marking and support. • Oak@peartreemead. essex. sch. uk or Pine@peartreemead. essex. sch. uk • Please ensure that the work is clearly titled with your child's full name.

DAILY TIMES TABLE PRACTICE (10 MINUTES DAILY) • We are practicing all of our times tables. This can be done by using Times Table Rocks Stars (you will need your school login) • Games Ideas • Fizz Buzz • Choose ‘fizz’ for multiples of a number (e. g. 3), and ‘buzz’ for multiples of another number (e. g. 5). Starting with 1, players take it in turns to say the next number. However, each time a multiple of 3 or 5 is reached, the player must say ‘fizz’ or ‘buzz’ instead of the number. If the number is a multiple of both 3 and 5, the player must say ‘fizzbuzz’. • For example: one, two, fizz, four, buzz, seven, eight, fizz, buzz, eleven, fizz, thirteen, fourteen, fizzbuzz • You could try other multiples or adding another multiple for a more complex game. • Times Table Tennis • Choose a times table to focus on. Take it in turns to say the next number in the times table sequence. You could pretend to serve and pass a tennis ball between you or use a real one. • Times Table Corners • Label different areas/corners of your garden with 2, 5 and 10. Shout a number. If the number is a multiple of 2, 5 or 10, you must go to the matching area. • Fastest Times Tables Facts • Choose a times table to focus on and have a competition to see who can write down the times tables facts the fastest. You can decide whether to write the number sentences out in full (e. g. 1 × 2 = 2, 2 × 2 = 4, 3 × 2 = 6 ) or just the numbers (e. g. 2, 4, 6). • Times Tables Snap and Matching Cards • Create a set of cards with separate times table facts and answers. Challenge each other to find the matching cards in a game of snap. Alternatively, place the cards face down and take it in turns to turn over two cards. If the cards match, the player keeps the cards. If the don’t match, turn the cards back over and the next player takes their turn. • Please visit the Kids Zone on our school, website for more ideas on how to practice these at home.
