Mental starter - I can convert from mili units by ÷ by 1000. If I have 5000 ml of water. How many litres do I have? 000 ml ÷ 1000 = 5 l Try some of your own.

LO: I can calculate 1/10 s and 1/100 s of quantities and convert to another unit of measure. We need to divide 300 kg by 100 because the denominator is 100. = 3 kg 300 kg ÷ 100 = 3 kg Now show the answer in grams. 3 x 1000 = 3000 3 kg = 3000 g

Find 1/10 of these and convert. 400 km 600 l 5200 kg 1/10 of 400 km = 400 km ÷ 10 = 40 km Now show in metres 40 x 1000 = 40, 000 40 km = 40, 000 m Try the other 2 on your own – answers on the next slide but try first.
