TIMETABLE • We would like to begin by thanking you all for accessing the home learning pack whilst in isolation at home. You should be very proud that you are following the government guidance and keeping the community safe. • Please begin by outlining with the family the agreed routine and timetable that you will attempt to follow. In school a routine and goal often helps to achieve a successful day. • The Power. Point will cover a weeks worth of learning. Please set up a timetable that suits your family and ensure you still communicate with the class teacher and school about your progress. • There are 5 sessions of Maths, English and other sessions, each session will take 60 minutes. We will also want you to complete daily reading for 15 minutes (book or bug club), Times Table practice for 15 minutes (TTRS or on paper) and spelling practice for 15 minutes (Readiwriter or on paper). • We would expect that you stay physically and mentally fit by engaging in 15 minutes of daily exercise. This can be something decided on by the whole family. It is a good way to positively share time. • Some lessons will be supported by the use of Oak Academy. There will be links available to follow in order to access the correct learning. These have been tested and sequenced by the class teachers providing your child with a good level of challenge. • Oak Academy has been chosen as it is highly supported by the Government and school. If you wish to supplement any of the learning and extend any knowledge please visit our school website (Kids Zone). • Don’t forget to use your class email account to show your hard work to the teacher. Here is also a good place to communicate about learning. Photos of work can be sent in for marking and support. • Oak@peartreemead. essex. sch. uk or Pine@peartreemead. essex. sch. uk • Please ensure that the work is clearly titled with your child's full name.

DAILY TIMES TABLE PRACTICE (15 MINUTES DAILY) • We are practicing all of our times tables. This can be done by using Times Table Rocks Stars (you will need your school login) • If you want a change then practice these using pen and paper. - Speed tables - You can race against a family member or play alone (even racing against the clock can be a challenge that really gets competitive-types going!). As you write down your tables, make it a sport and aim for ‘personal bests’. - Bingo! - This is best played with at least three people. Make simple bingo cards with multiples on. Then the caller, call out “nines”, and whoever has 81 dabs it. The person who gets a full house is the caller on the next round. - Throw the dice - Throw two dice and write down the multiplication. If you want to work on tables higher than one to six, use small stickers to change the numbers, or buy twelve-sided dice. The winner is the one with the most correct calculations written down in a given time frame. - Memory game - make some number cards, and write down the corresponding tables calculations onto cut-out card. Make sure the number cards and the tables calculation cards are different shapes so you can distinguish a calculation from a potential answer. Lay all cards upside-down on the floor or desk. First you have to turn over one of the table calculation cards, and then you need to find the number card that is the answer to the calculation. The winner is the player with the most cards once all the overturned cards are gone. - Keep fit challenge - jog on the spot and do different aerobic moves in time to chanting them. • Please visit the Kids Zone on our school, website for more ideas on how to practice these at home.
