What do you already know about witches’ curses, spells and potions ? Have you read any other books, watched TV programmes or films that contain witches’ curses, spells or potions ? What have you noticed about witches ’ curses and potions? Talk to your partner.

Do you notice any patterns in the language such as repetition or alliteration? Were there any memorable words or phrases that stood out to you? Did you notice the rhythm of the poem? How would it feel if we recited the poem and walked around at the same time? Let's try it. What images come to mind as you heard the poem? What do you think helped create these images for you ?

Today you are going to practice performing the poem we looked at on Day 3. Which bits will you read loudly/softly ? Will you include actions ? Remember your audience? Can they hear you? Can you ask other people in your house to listen to you perform? Can they give you any advice on how to make your performance even better?
