Day 1 Learning Question: What is our effect on the environment?
Activity 1 What happens to our rubbish? List ten items of rubbish that your family throw out. Talk about where it goes. Who collects it? When is it collected? Does it have a special bin? Write sentences to explain this.

Research how collecting litter can help the environment. Take photographs, on your family walk, of a positive part of your local area and an area that may have been ruined by the dropping of litter. Describe both photographs using adjectives and explain the effect of litter. The green, lush grass is coated with cardboard boxes. They block out the rays of sunshine.
Day 3 Learning Question: How do I know what the features of a weather report are?
Activity 3 Weather Script (Radio 4) Today: A cloudy, rather cold day with rain, heavy at times, quickly spreading from the west during the morning and persisting for the rest of the day. Rain may clear the far west by evening. Maximum temperature 13 deg C (55 deg F). Tonight: After a wet start, rain will clear steadily eastwards followed by much drier weather for the second half of the night. Minimum temperature 7 deg C (45 deg F). What are the key features to include in your weather report? Can you find them in this script?

Day 5 Learning Question: Can you write a weather report as a script, using the plan and your knowledge? Can you film yourself presenting your own weather report?
Activity 5 Write the script for your weather report. Introduce yourself and where you are. Describe the actions of your movements. These are called Stage Directions. Film yourself presenting your weather report. Perhaps you could use props that you have made during your project work.
