Year 2 Challenges What will you do today?
Reading. Choose a book to read. Let’s practise: write down your number bonds to 20: now use them to find bonds to 100, 30, 40 etc. Ask a grown up to give you some questions to solve, e. g. 42 + 38= How quickly can you answer? Go on a shape hunt: can you take photos of what you see? Name the shapes.
Writing. What’s your favourite fairytale? Can you re-write it in your own words? Describe where the story is set (use noun phrases). Introduce your characters and describe them. Illustrate your story. Reme m beaut ber to kee iful a nd sp p your han ell ca refull dwriting y!
Physical. The weather is amazing! Try to get outside in the sunshine (remember your suncream!) Ride a bike, have a water fight, help in the garden, wash some toys, have a picnic, draw some flowers: anything to enjoy the sunshine! Don ’t forg and et abo ut J Cos oe W mic Yog i a! cks

Religious. Talk with your grown ups about what has been happening in our lives to keep us all safe from Coronavirus. Share your hopes for the future and anything that worries you. Could you write it in a letter to God? And remember if you are talking to Him you are praying.
Phonics. Sub, bi and tri are the prefixes of the words you found in one of our challenges. Try to remember the words and see if you can still spell them. Think of some sentences with the words in them.
