Year 1 Learning Pack BRONZE Week beginning 08. 06. 2020 If your child is attending school they will be completing day 1 and day 2 with their teacher on the two days they are in. We are asking that on the other three days when your child is working at home they complete day 3, 4 and 5. If your child is completing the learning pack at home all week, please complete the pack as normal from day 1 to 5. Day 1 Physical Challenge! Simon Says The teacher is Simon. Maybe swap over so a child gets a turn, if time. Simon either begins a command with “Simon Says” or not. To stay in the game, kids only must follow the commands that begin with “Simon Says”. If you want to make the game difficult for older kids, simply issue commands faster and faster, and make the needed actions more and more difficult to complete.
Day 1: Literacy – Focus sentences This week we are going to be learning all about writing accurate sentences with clear finger spaces, a full stop and a capital letter. Day 2 Physical Challenge! Musical Bumps Get your dancing shoes on! This game is best with at least 4 or more children playing and 1 additional person to stop the music. First the music is played and the children dance. When the music stops, the child who sits on their chair the slowest, is out.

Day 4 Physical Challenge! Crab walk The crab walk will really get the kids winded. Start by sitting on the ground with your hands and feet flat on the ground. Make sure your fingers are pointing away from your body or else you will put too much pressure on your wrists. Now, raise your torso up towards the sky, about level with your shoulders. Then start to walk with your hands and feet. Let’s see how long you and the kids can keep this up! What other animals can we look like?
