AHC Group Corporate Affiliates Workshop 33 rd Biannual “Achieving Results” Workshop January 18 -19, 2017 • Phoenix, AZ Featured Speakers Arlene Strom, Vice President Sustainability & Communications, “Competitive Agility at Suncor Energy: Sustainability & Innovation” Arlene Strom is the Vice President Sustainability & Communications at Suncor Energy Inc. , a position she has held since March, 2013. She is responsible for Stakeholder and Aboriginal relations, reputation and brand, communications and issues management. She is also responsible for Suncor’s sustainability and outreach strategy, climate change strategy, environmental excellence support and for the management of the Suncor Energy Foundation. From August 2009 to March 2013, she was Vice President Communications & Stakeholder Relations and for six years prior to that she held various leadership positions within Suncor’s legal department. Prior to joining Suncor Arlene worked for six years at Burnet Duckworth & Palmer LLP as a securities lawyer. She also taught securities law as a sessional at the University of Calgary law faculty for 3 years. During the first part of her career, Arlene held various positions in sales and marketing in the consumer packaged goods industry, working in cities from Vancouver to Halifax. Richard Ellis, Group Head Corporate Social Responsibility, “Taking the Circular Economy from Slipstream to Mainstream” Richard Ellis is the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at the Alliance Boots Group. Richard has spent the past 30 years working for a range of Companies on all aspects of the CSR agenda. The early part of his career was spent in Banking before becoming involved in CSR after the Inner City riots of the early 1980 s. After this involvement he held CSR related positions at HSBC, TSB, British Aerospace and ran his own CSR consultancy for five years. In 2003 he joined Boots and became responsible for all the Company’s CSR activities. Following the merger between Boots and Alliance Uni. Chem and the subsequent Private Equity Buy Out he was appointed into his current role.

In his role as president of CH 2 M’s Environment & Nuclear business group, Matthew leads strategy, operations and growth of CH 2 M’s market-leading environmental and nuclear business, which has ranked number one on Engineering News Record‘s Top 200 Environmental Firms list since 2006. With a career spanning more than three decades in the global environmental market, Matthew brings deep experience including leadership and executive roles in environmental consulting; operations and business development; and technical services including remediation, decontamination and decommissioning. He has served both private-and public-sector clients in North and South America, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to CH 2 M, Matthew previously served as CEO of AECOM’s environmental business and also worked with Arcadis, Dames & Moore, Harding & Lawson, and Groundwater Technology. Marc Sarkady, President & CEO, “Facilitation Process: Urgency, Directness and Result” Marc David Sarkady has been advising Fortune 500 corporations, as well as organizations of all sizes, for more than 35 years. CEOs know and trust Marc for his strategic approach, rigor and candor, and relentless energetic follow-through. They know that he understands how to help them fulfill their responsibilities and make their organizations more effective. In the 1980 s, Mr. Sarkady worked with international mediation teams to facilitate the US/Soviet Arms Control Process and agreement between Presidents Gorbachev and Reagan, resulting in an improved Hot. In the 1990 s, he assisted the Middle East Peace Process, facilitating sessions between representatives from ten countries around the region regarding security, economic development, human rights, and the development of civil societies.
