Timetable for the visit 8: 50 Arrive at school 9: 15 Load the coach 9: 30 Depart 11: 00 Arrive at Standon Bowers 11: 15 Unpack and orientation 12: 00 Cooked lunch (hot buffet) 1: 00 Afternoon Activities
• • 5: 30 Dinner (two main meal choices and a vegetarian option, two dessert choices plus yoghurt or fruit) 7: 00 Evening activity (such as campfire or night hike) 8: 30 Bedtime and story 9: 00 Asleep Each day follows a similar timetable with double activity sessions for some of the activities.
On the final day • 7: 30 Breakfast • 8: 30 Pack and tidy dorms • 9: 00 Activities • 10: 30 Break • 11: 00 Activities • 1: 00 Dinner • 1: 45 Load the coach and depart • 3: 15 Arrive back at school
Sleeping Arrangement • Our school group is sleeping in dormitories • Girls and Boys are in separate dormitories • There will be children from other school at the centre, but only Thomas Russell children in the dorms. • The shower and toilet rooms have recently been refurnished. • The school staff are placed in individual rooms next to the dormitories (but within the same building). Teachers are accessible during the night if required.
Activity groups • The children will choose two or three friends and be place in activity groups of 8 -12 mixed boys and girls. • Children can mix across the two classes in order to forge new friendships and strengthen old ones. • For some activities two watches will combine, others will take place as a whole year group. • The children will be given challenges to overcome and take on different roles and responsibilities throughout their visit.
Kit list (all in one bag / small suitcase) • Wear one set of old clothes and trainers ready to get stuck into activities when you arrive. • Pack two spare sets of old clothes for the other days (undies, t-shirt, trousers (no jeans) and a jumper) • Boots and Coat (preferably warm and waterproof) • Indoor shoes • Washbag (a bag for life makes a perfect washbag that towel and PJs can fit into) • Small shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste) • Towel (dark colour rather than white !) • Pillow case and duvet cover • Sleepwear (warm PJs are ideal) and a teddy • Plastic drink bottle, named • Labelled bin bag for wet and dirty clothing
BRING SEPARATELY TO THE HALL: • Up to £ 5. 00 in change in a named purse • Medicines & fully completed forms re. administration. • Medical forms will be sent two weeks prior to the visit, please complete and return asap. No mobile phones or electronics allowed.
