Update from Fall FAC • Received advanced procurement approval December 18, 2009 for: – Sample Goniometer – Detector Mover • Final Instrument Design Review successfully held Feb 24, 2009 – Procurement authorization for everything except OPA, multipass amplifier • Baseline change request processed to include large offset monochromator system for XPP – Procurement documents were reviewed at the XCS advanced procurement review April 24, 2009 and the documents are being updated X-ray Pump-Probe Instrument FAC Meeting, June 9 2009 4 4 David FRITZ [email protected] stanford. edu

Laser Tables and Enclosure 5’ x 12’ 5’ x 6’ • Completed design of laser containment system and optical table layouts – • Design review November 14, 2008 Laser tables are fabricated and are in storage in the control room. – Anchor holes are drilled and tables are ready to be installed once granite is installed • Enclosure PO placed April 20, 2009 X-ray Pump-Probe Instrument FAC Meeting, June 9 2009 5 5 David FRITZ [email protected] stanford. edu

Early Commissioning? • • • X-ray support tables are expected to be installed in July Vacuum transport can/will be installed in the summer as well Prototype X-ray diagnostics will be ready in the fall Would be extremely beneficial to receive some early “machine time” to test prototype diagnostics, optics, materials, etc… – 4 -8 hours per week? ? ?
