Xplore Asia International Engineering Experience May 12 to May 24, 2017 Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Hong Kong, China Program Overview Program Fees Marian University is excited to announce a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about doing business and culture in China. With the growing importance of China in the global economy, this real-world experience will provide you with an introduction and opportunity to understand cultural nuances of business in China, gain insights into business innovation, and the chance to expand your career development. Program fees: $4350 person. Not included: Tuition, application fee, insurance, passport, meals not listed and personal expenses. Eligibility * The price is based on a minimum of 8 participants and subject to change due to fluctuations in exchange rate. (or other notes) This program is open to Marian University students who hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 2. 20 and have completed at least 2 semesters of full-time study at Marian University. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Dual Degree Engineering Program (DDEP). What’s Included • Cultural experiences and field trips with local bilingual guides • Entrance fees and reservations are included for tours (unless otherwise noted) • Academic and professional excursions with presenters and/or professionals • • • Accommodation: 12 nights at a 3/4 -star hotel in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Beijing. (twin rooms with private bathroom, wifi and air-conditioning) • Coordinator to accompany your group during all planned visits and excursions while in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Beijing Meals: Daily breakfasts. One welcome dinner in Shanghai and one farewell dinner in Beijing. May 13: (Beijing) • Arrival at Beijing International Airport • Transportation by private bus from the airport to the hotel in Beijing • 4 nights in twin rooms with private bathrooms incl. breakfast at a 3/4 -star hotel in Beijing Day 3 >>Sun. May 14: (Beijing) • Breakfast at the accommodation • Transportation by private bus during the day • Guided tour of Mutianyu, one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, in the morning • Guided tour of Tiananmen Square/Forbidden City, the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty—the years 1420 to 1912, in the afternoon • Welcome dinner with program orientation at a restaurant in Beijing to kick off the program Day 4 >>Mon.
