X-CELL MALE MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON
X-CELL’S MISSION STATEMENT At X-Cell Maximum Security Prison, we help convicts rehabilitate, and realize the negative impact they have had on society. We offer several encouraging programs that help reform the convicts mistakes and end up walking through our doors having a positive impact on society.

PROGRAMS Improvement Programs: 1. Puppies Behind Bars 2. The Inside- Out Program
Puppies Behind Bars If the inmate qualifies for this program, it will allows them to raise puppies to become service dogs for the blind, disabled, and explosive detection canines for law enforcement. This installs accountability and responsibility within the inmate and gives them a sense of ownership and positive control.
The Inside- Out Program In this class, inmates work with undergraduate students by reading criminal justice texts and writing papers. This course helps inmates to exchange thoughts and ideas with the undergraduate students. It helps them to come up different solutions and ideas.
Educational Programs 1. Functional Literacy Program 2. GED Preparation Program 3. Vocational Education Program 4. Special Education Program
Functional Literacy Program Any inmate that does not test at a least a grade 8 level must attend this program for 120 days. They are involved with math, language and reading to bring their scores up to a minimum of a grade 8 level. After 120 days, they may continue on a voluntary basis.
GED Preparation Program Every inmate is given a General Educational Development test, the same test that is given to the general public. Any inmate that has taken the Functional Literacy Program to achieve their grade 8 level or who has entered the prison at a grade 8 level but does not have a high school diploma or a GED may participate in this program.
Vocational Education Program This enables inmates to work with local community colleges to become trained and skilled so that they will become employable upon release. Most inmates that are eligible for this program already have a high school diploma and a GED.
Special Education Program Inmates under the age of 22 and inmates with disabilities will be provided with a special version of these classes.
