Need for Aquatics Facilities City of Reno 2008 Recreational Facilities Status Report and Walker Macy Assessment • Gap Analysis indicates need for at least one regional and three additional neighborhood pools • Citizen input indicated pools as the primary parks and recreation need in the community
Need for Aquatics Facilities • Northwest Pool is City of Reno’s most recently built pool – 1977 • City of Reno and Washoe County population has doubled since that time • Year round publically accessible pools in Reno – Northwest – Evelyn Mount Community Center
Need for Aquatics Facilities • Drowning prevention and Water Safety • Lifespan activity • Senior/Disabled/Veteran populations
