Principles of a good CV… • Emphasise what the reader will be interested in • Use positive language • Simple, clean design
Emphasise things they will be interested in… • Hard skills – – – Previous work in another legislature Useful business experience Any work with political parties Research experience Particular academic subjects • Soft skills – Written and oral communication skills – Ability to work on your own – Attention to detail
Your CV… • Keep it to one page • Include following sections – Personal details – Education – Relevant experience – Skills – Anything else you have space for!
What to include in each section… • Personal details – LSE email address & nationality (EU or outside EU) – Usual contact details – London address + phone number • Education – Emphasise masters – Relevant modules
