Bringing the world into your school • We are one global family – learning about and from our sisters and brothers around the world. • CAFOD offers children and young people a variety of opportunities to explore global justice. With you, we hope to inspire children and young people to be the change they want to see in their communities and worldwide.
Bringing the world into your school • Your school community can put faith into action with our support: • in prayer, • in raising our voices about decisions that damage poor communities, • in continuing to support our work overseas, for example by taking part in Harvest and Lent Fast Days.
Why include global justice learning? “I encourage you to renew your passion for humanity… and to be witnesses of life and hope. ” (Pope Francis, 14 March 2015)
What is CAFOD? • CAFOD is the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. • We are the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in England Wales: that includes your school community! • We are inspired by Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching and the experiences and hopes of people who are living in poverty. • We believe that everyone in the world has a right to live their lives with dignity. • Together, with the help of our school communities, we put our faith into action to help our sisters and brothers living in extreme poverty to reach their full potential regardless of religion or culture.
