ISES Count Date and Year End Data Element Changes
Homeless Status: Homeless Status is an indication of whether a student lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.
Years in US Schools: Years in US Schools is the number of consecutive full academic years a student has been enrolled in one or more schools in any one or more States.
Native Language: Change in Definition Native Language will be collected for all grades.
Educational Environment Classification: Change in Codes Significant changes in both codes and code descriptions have occurred to meet new requirement of U. S. Department of Education.
Secondary Disabilities: Secondary Disabilities are any additional disability conditions identified by the student’s latest evaluation.
District: Change in Definition Additional Student Groups • Parentally Placed Private Students with Disabilities • DOC • DHFS
Parentally Placed Private: Parentally Placed Private is an indication of a student placed by a parent or guardian in a private school who receives special education or related services from the submitting district that meet state standards under a service plan.

Birth State • NEW! US Territories are available • Update Birth State of existing WSLS records for all students born outside the US • Include Birth State for all new WSLS records, if possible, but at a minimum for students born outside the US

Training Opportunities • WSLS Refresher Training – Available on-line in late June • ISES Count Date & Year End Refresher Training – Available on-line in August • ISES Count Date & Year End Fall Update – four sessions available August 20 – September 14 • ISES Discipline Training – eight sessions available August 20 – September 14
Tentative Fall 2007 ISES Schedule • ISES will open in August. • WSAS roster file will be pulled around the first week of October. • ISES Discipline data will be due in early October. • Initial submission of ISES Year End and Count Date data will be due in late October followed by the review and revision period in November 2007.
