WORDS MATTER The wisest people I know are not usually talkers. Sure, they communicate and usually very well, but their words are few—they refrain their lips. This is a biblical truth: “He that refraineth his lips is wise. ” If “death and life are in the power of the tongue, ” why do I so frequently speak without thinking? I can’t go through life without speaking; instead, I need to be selective with my words and comments … choosing to build up instead of tearing down … letting the secret or gossip die with me instead of fanning the fire. My desire? To make the Gospel attractive by my wise, encouraging words.
