Writing for Narrative • Treatment – a short prose document outlining the Who, What, Where, Why, and When of a story. It introduces key characters, and explains the major themes and actions for each scene, in the present tense. • Full Script – a detailed written account of the entire production, including scene descriptions, dialogue, and basic camera instructions • Shot List (card) – a written list of ALL SHOTS that are planned for production, including B-roll • Overhead – a “bird's eye view” diagram of the intended camera, lighting, and actor placement for a given shot, known as a SETUP • Shooting Order (Plan) – the order that the scenes and shots will be executed in. This is useful when shooting out-of-order to reduce the number of different SETUPS
