World War II Ends As World War II came to a close, several questions needed to be dealt with. Who will pay for the Holocaust? How should war-torn Europe be fixed? How can we prevent another war from happening?
Who will pay for the Holocaust? 1. What are the Nuremberg Trials? – Series of trials to punish those responsible for “crimes against humanity” – 22 Nazi leaders tried (plus 23 “doctors”, 16 judges and thousands of others) 2. How were these trials different than war crime trials of the past? – Held individuals (regardless of orders from their superiors) accountable for actions during war-time
How should war-torn Europe be fixed? 3. What is the Yalta Conference? – Meeting between FDR, Churchill and Stalin to decide on how they will deal with Germany and post-war Europe 4. What were the two agreements made at the Yalta Conference? a) Germany divided into four zones controlled by USA, USSR, G.
