WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY DIGITAL MEDIA CONTEST RUBRIC In order to qualify for our WDSD Digital Media Contest, schools must receive a minimum total of 25 points. Solid Work – Missed Key Component s (1 Point) Research: Clearly used resources provided by HDSA to educate and inform students and staff. This was evident in the presentation. Research: Found additional resources (possibly human) to enhance their understanding. This was evident in the presentation. Research: Involved the whole school community, all students, staff and extended this information out into the community (parents, etc. ) Celebration: The celebration took place sometime within February/March and was over the period of a day (or multiple days). Celebration: The celebration utilized many facets of Down syndrome awareness (blue/yellow, socks, presentations, etc. ) and other unique ways to showcase awareness. Celebration: The celebration truly spreads awareness about Down syndrome and/or the concepts of equality, empathy, respect, acceptance, friendship and responsibility. Digital Media Presentation: The presentation was created with the help of students and lasts between the outlined time limits. (5 -7 minutes. ) Digital Media Presentation: The presentation clearly shows an understanding of Down syndrome and/or the concepts of equality, empathy, respect, acceptance, friendship and responsibility. Digital Media Presentation: The presentation is creative and the students are clearly learning and having fun! BONUS! The school/class ran a fundraiser for Halton Down Syndrome Association.
