A LEVEL MATHS WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE MATHS? › A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics enable students to think mathematically and enable them to develop their skills at problem solving. These important skills are of value to many university courses which range from Statistics, Geography and Economics to Pure Mathematics and Engineering. WHAT IS THE COURSE STRUCTURE LIKE? › The course is a two year course. It consists of three exams. Each exam is 2 hours long. Paper 1 is core maths only, paper 2 is core with mechanics, paper 3 is core with statistics. All exams will be taken at the end of your second year. The course is 100% examination. A LEVEL FURTHER MATHS Students who are studying Maths and Further Maths will study the whole of A Level Maths in Year 12. They will study Further Maths in Year 13. The examinations for both courses would be taken at the end of Year 13. There are three options for the applied content of the Further Maths course – mechanics, statistics and discrete. We will offer the students the choice of which to study and are happy to cover all three options. World class thinking. World class achieving.
