Installation Types ØLocal installation • Single-seat installation ØCentral installation • WINLine folder must be shared • A folder is created for each “user“ in the WINLine app folder • Processes run on the “server“ ØNetwork installation (client/server) • WINLine folder must be shared on the server as well as the clients • Files are automatically copied to the clients • Processes run on each client workstation April 2008
Installation Types ØTerminal server and server farm • Terminal server and SQL server should not be on same server PC for performance reasons • A separate folder is on terminal server for each user • Short cut to cwlstart. exe on the desktop of each TS user • Server farm means that more than one terminal server can be used > “load balancing“ April 2008
Update - Patch Ø Patch • Files are downloaded from the Internet and automatically installed -> solely for *. exe updates • Clients are updated as well Ø Update • New build number -> CD or install setup version • The new version can be installed from the server or client • The new files are copied to the clients or server during update • Database must be upsized • Please note the following before an update: Start the cwlstart. exe on the server at least once -> so that any changes (forms, user-specific settings) can be updated • Forms, CTK modifications need to checked in – otherwise they are deleted • Back up the WINLine folder on the server • Back up databases (System database + Company database(s)) • April 2008
User ØUser types • WINLine user + CRM user • CRM Go user • • WEB user April 2008
User Groups ØEach user must be assigned to a system user group (group 0 -9) • No CTK modifications can be made for Group 0 (default) • Groups 10 -13 are reserved for the WEB Edition ØThe user group name can be edited ØFurther user groups can be created • Groups can be used for CRM • Groups can be used for authorizations • A user can be assigned to more than one group April 2008
Authorizations – Lock Variables ØAuthorizations • Authorizations by company or fiscal year level per user • Authorizations for individual modules per user • Authorizations by data record for user groups • Users not in the user groups cannot open the data record ØLock Variables • Variables can be locked per table or table column • Locked fields are displayed or printed with **** April 2008
Audit Protocols ØAudit Protocol function • • Error log function for window, company change, system error, etc. Audit protocol entry is written when “traffic light“ icon is yellow “Audit level“ is set up in WL ADMIN in Database Connections Protocol can be opened and deleted in CWLSTART ØAudit Protocol Data function • Each column in database table can be selected for auditing • Any change to data field (column value) is noted with old value, new value and user who made the change. • Audit protocol can be opened in CWLSTART • Protocol can be deleted in WL ADMIN April 2008
Data Backup ØWhat can be backed up? • System database can be backed up from WL ADMIN • Selection of system tables that will be backed up • Companies can be backed up from WL ADMIN • Selection of fiscal year from which company will be backed up • System files (e. g. , *. meso) • Selection of components that will be backed up ØAutomated backup procedures with the Action Server April 2008
Database Upsize Ø Databases from older program versions can be upsized to the new version Ø Table structure/definitions can be reconstructed with an upsize Ø Companies can be transferred to another or new database with an upsize Ø Companies can be formatted to another database type with an upsize Ø Companies can be copied incl. transaction data (new company number) • Example. : generation of a test company from live company data April 2008

Reorganization ØIrrevocable deletion of data ØOnly administrators (super users) can open menu item ØManual selection of data • • AR/AP Accounts -> must be set to inactive and have no postings Products -> must be set to inactive and have no postings Vouchers Open Invoices Cost types, cost centers Assets Other data April 2008
Quick Conversion Assistant ØGlobal changes to Base Info field values • only one field can be converted at a time. ØManual selection of field that should be converted ØSelection of data records that should be converted • use filter to select data records whose fields will be converted ØEnter new value for all selected data records • this value can also be manually edited per data record ØQuick Conversion is for large-scale data changes • change many data records with one value April 2008
Additional Fields Ø Additional fields (user-defined fields) can be set up with different data formats • Additional fields are primarily used for storing unstructured data • Date, text, integer, double and capital letters • Values are always saved in the database as text Ø 30 additional fields can be set up for each Base Info type • AR/AP Accounts, products, sales reps, cost centers, etc. Ø n- additional specifications can be created • Only one additional spec. can be assigned per data record Ø Additional field values can be printed in reports or used as criteria in filter selection criteria • Assign additional, user-defined information April 2008
Properties ØUnlimited number of properties can be set up • Properties are used for storing structured data, i. e. , Yes/No, combo box selection, etc. ØProperties can be assigned to different objects (product, AR/AP accounts, CRM, relationships, etc. ) ØProperties are non-specific to company ØProperties can be printed in reports ØProperties are available as filter selection criteria ØDifferent types of properties can be set up • Integer, double, headers, checkbox, variable (combo box), fix -> values can only be selected from combo box April 2008
Macro Recorder ØRecording of recurring processes – “macros“ • E. g. , print out of a certain report ØUser entry during macro run can be set up with F 11 key ØMacros can be stored locally on client or moved to server so that it is available to every user ØMacros can be inserted into the Cockpit ØMacros can be started from a form -> Drill Down element in form ØMacros can be edited when needed with VB scripting April 2008

ØForm types can be set up for automated indexing of external document types ØForm types can be assigned to a file extension – DOC, XLS, JPG, TIF, etc. ØSupports TWAIN interface for scanning of archive April 2008
