WORKSHOP ONE: What’s New Program Manual: Program Chairs and Judges ☛ Many questions about how much contact program chairs should have with program judges during 2017 • Every program must have a Judges’ Committee Chair who is the program’s main liaison with the program judges • Judges’ Chair conducts the Judges’ Orientation • No one except the Judges’ Chair and a representative of either the National (for state programs) or State program (for local programs) is to be present during interviews and/or deliberations • Program chair may come in at the beginning of the Judges’ Orientation to welcome the judges, and may speak to the judges as a group to thank them at the conclusion of the showcase--this is the only contact permitted! • Use of the master tabulation and scholastics spreadsheets are MANDATORY!
