A serious game Transmitting knowledge through games Some elements of digital epistemic games • It is an educational tool • In a context marked by the need to develop the attractiveness of training, to welcome a new audience of learners, and to design learning devices that allow the development of skills rather than strictly disciplinary knowledge, digital epistemic games (JEN) appear as an alternative pedagogy to traditional approaches
A serious game • The Digital Epistemic Games are fun learning situations that lead the learner to solve complex but nondeterministic problems -problems that can be solved in more than one way. • The Digital Epistemic Games allow multidirectional interactions on mixed reality to design authentic learning situations.
A serious game • The Digital Epistemic Games aim, in a given context, at developing the learner's ability to mobilize, a diversified repertoire of resources (disciplinary knowledge and knowhows) and their reflexive feedback capacity on this approach (skills-based approach). • The Digital Epistemic Game also rely on the use of mobile devices and collaborative platforms that allow for flexibility of time and educational space. These are pervasive and persistent techno-educational devices.
