LHC Data Exchange Project LHC CS ALICE DCS: LHC NODE DIP (Data Interchange Protocol) is the communication protocol used between the machine and the experiments to synchronize the injection starting of the accelerator with the experiments status and to monitor operations The LHC-ALICE data exchange project is the link between the control systems of ALICE and LHC Claudio Bortolin – Univ. Udine - CERN - INFN PD Padova - 3
Works I joined in: Ø DIP subscription and pubblication (about 900 items) Ø Local Archive for Trend history in the ACR display Ø LHC files for Offline (performed by a background script) Ø BKGR monitoring Ø Post Mortem trigger system Ø Handshake system for Injection, Adjust and Dump Ø ACR big screen display Claudio Bortolin – Univ. Scheduled to be implemented 1. LHC Data Exchange Project: re-design and split the project in 3 computers to improve stability and performance 2. BKGR /LUM: select and import the right signals from BLM, mu. ARM, TPC; monitoring of collimators and vacuum gauges, archiving (->OCDB? ) 3. HLT-DCS link for vertex info to LHC CS 4. DCS-ECS-CTP synchronization of standard procedures 5. LHC To OFFLINE Central DCS: user friendly tool to retrieve DCS data Claudio Bortolin – Univ. Udine - CERN - INFN PD Padova - 6
