Working Together: Digital Solutions Sam Elliott Transition Manager Bolton Library and Museum Service

Task: Renaissance North West : Sustainable Futures Fund Aim: Increase sustainability Using the fund to work with Greater Manchester Museums Group to ensure that they have a relevant legacy post Renaissance and to ensure they have the resources to continue in the future.

Greater Manchester Museum Group (GMMG) • GMMG historically provided a forum for museum professionals to share good practice and work based issues • Renaissance involvement in recent years meant that GMMG is now more strategic • Senior managers group, ensuring that museums in Greater Manchester can be discussed at a high level • During past eighteen months GMMG has been focusing on three projects that feed into the aims of the Sustainable Futures Fund. The three projects are themed around shared services

Greater Manchester Museums Group Online Development • Create a central website for GMMG that ensures it is a visible and accessible group • Create digital resources that form online learning sessions based on the collections from the partner venues • Provide a solution to a reduced staff capacity by creating an online offer that compliments an onsite offer • Sustainable offer
