Remember Jim? • After doing some self discovery and assessing his job values he started looking for work in another industry that was based on his likes and values. • He networked with friends about his interest in working in nature and his friends directed him to Texas Parks and Wildlife. • He adjusted his resume to highlight skills that would help him get his new job as a Park Ranger.
Here we see Jenna… • She was referred to a part-time job at an ambulance company by her Adult Education Instructor, where she used her excellent interpersonal skills, showed for work early and never called in sick. • She was offered a fulltime job as a receptionist and has done really well. Her employer couldn’t be happier with her performance.
Joe also found a job! • Well, sort of…his grandmother (part of his network) loves to brag about his recent graduation and his accomplishments. She is a member of several social groups. • At one of her meetings she mentioned him in front of the right person who offered Joe an internship that could potentially lead to a great paying job at a technology company. • Do you think he will get hired?
