Next Exercise Step 1: The first step in this next exercise was to pull the College Factual® diversity data for each institution and create a one-page printable “scorecard”. Step 2: The names of the college were removed from the scorecard to omit affinity and bias. Now the stage is set for a blind assessment!
Assessment The team was broken into three small sub-groups, each group reviewing 3 – 4 scorecards at time. The groups evaluated the overall combination of four key factors: 1) Ethnic diversity; 2) Population of male vs female students; 3) Total size of student body, and 4) Geographic diversity as compared to the national average.
Assessment After assessing the scorecards, each sub-groups collectively determined YES, NO, or MAYBE Once agreed, a vote was cast with a color-coded sticker After each vote, the sub-groups were asked to rotate their scorecards to This rotation was repeated until each group assessed assess a new set of schools. and voted on all of the schools in our pool of options.
