Ms. Ying Zhang Mrs. Rosario French- The purpose of this course is to introduce and to foster appreciation of French language and culture to beginning students. Several cultural events (la chandeleur, la fête des rois, mardi gras, le poisson d’avril, etc…) will be celebrated in class as well. Mr. Savage Mandarin: China is the third biggest country and has the largest population (over 1. 3 billion) in the world. It is also a multi-ethnic and multi-religions country. China has a long history of civilization and cultural background. The development of China in past decades is amazing. The job market for speaking Chinese language is expanding, and your kids will have a good future to learn Chinese language. The program will try to communicate in Chinese other than English, will gain knowledge and understanding of Chinese cultures, and will make connections of the values, attitudes, and beliefs between America and Chinese contemporary societies, and will develop insight into nature of language and culture. Spanish-Learning a foreign language can be the beginning of a new mindset and a new way of looking at the world. In 5 th grade we begin to explore the Spanish language in depth by developing our second language skills but also by discussing many aspects of the Hispanic culture.

Krissi Smith The counseling program consists of classroom guidance lessons with emphasis on personal / social skills, problem solving, academia, and career awareness and exploration. Small groups are also available based on students' needs. Topics may vary from time management to test anxiety. Any faculty member or parent can refer a student they feel could benefit from individual or small group work. Students are also welcome to self-refer. The counselor works collaboratively with the teachers and learning specialists to ensure an optimal learning experience for each student. In addition, the counseling program supports parents and teachers during conferences while maintaining the role of student advocate.
