Your schema can be applied to what you are reading. This can make the text relatable to your own life and experiences. The more you read or experience the wider your schema becomes.

Why is schema important? It helps you relate to a story, character or theme.

There are multiple approaches to reading and we are going to learn one approach by wearing “lenses. ” Just like wearing glasses, you are going to see a situation through the eyes of another person. Your schema will vary from the person next to you. It is unique, just like you!
